Y.M. Abdel-Magied is a Sudanese author, screenwriter and award-winning social advocate. A former mechanical engineer, Abdel-Magied is dedicated to the civilian movement in Sudan and the celebration and amplification of Sudanese culture, consistently advocating for transformative justice and a fairer, safer world for all.

Audrey has recently joined the Commonwealth Foundation as leader of the Advocacy and Creative Programme, following more than twenty years at the BBC World Service, where she was one of the leading voices broadcasting events of global significance. She has an enduring interest in words arranged into stories that illuminate our existence.

Y.M. Abdel-Magied and Audrey Brown will delve into this compelling story, exploring its themes of gender and power politics and the cost of capitalism. Expect an insightful discussion that unpacks the ideas at the heart of the novel and invites audiences to consider its relevance in today’s world.
